17-cm arched brass dial with matted centre, silvered engraved chapter ring with Roman numerals and blued pierced steel hands, rococo spandrels, apertures for date and mock pendulum, signature plaque Step.n Rimbault London, subsidiary above for strike/silent, 8-day spring driven fusee movement with verge escapement, rare grande sonnerie striking on 8 bells, hour striking on a bell, ebonized case with true bell top surmounted by a brass handle and four berry finials, break arch glass panels with engraved brass spandrels to the front and back door, canted corners with caryatid mounts, pierced frets to the sides, moulded plinth raised on bracket feet.
