A French Empire ormolu sculptural mantel clock, circa 1810
Description
8-day movement with half hour striking, fine ormolu case.
7.5-cm enamel dial with Roman numerals and blued steel Breguet hands, 8-day spring-driven movement with anchor escapement and silk suspended pendulum, half hour countwheel striking on a bell, trapezoid shaped ormolu case with classical mounts surmounted by a mirror and a butterfly, flanked by a pointing Cupid standing on a stool, rectangular base with a relief depicting Cupids having target practise, the whole raised on turned feet.
