Description
The dial
The 3-cm enamel dial has Roman numerals and is fitted in a silver bezel. The spade hands are made of blued steel.
The movement
The movement is driven by a spring barrel with fixed winding and has eight day duration. It is being regulated by a platform anchor escapement in combination with a bi-metallic balance which has adjusting screws.
The case
The lancet shaped case is made of sterling silver. The front is adorned with blue enamel in a recessed plane. The back has a hinged door giving access to the movement. The case is hallmarked for London and year letter A for 1896. Besides these there is a mark for William Gibson and John Lawrence Langman. Finally the bottom is inscribed Goldsmiths Co 112 Regent St.W . The whole is raised on bracket feet.
