Description
The guilloche enamel case
The urn shaped case is made of silver which in turn is guilloche engraved. After that a translucent layer of white enamel was applied. On this layer there are seven medallions in total with polychrome depictions of ladies and putti. the whole is surmounted by a finial and placed on a octagonal white onyx base.
The ‘cercle tournant’
The dial is a silvered circle with Roman numerals turning along a fixed pointer. Hence the term ‘cercle tournant’ which means turning circle.
The movement
The spring driven movement has a duration of eight days. It is regulated by a platform anchor escapement and compensated balance. The plate is marked Swiss 6 jewels 2 adjustments.
