The movement is driven by a spring barrel with fusee and chain and is of one day duration. It is regulated by a balance under a beautifully pierced and engraved cock in combination with a verge escapement. The clock strikes the full hours on the bell by means of an engraved countwheel. The beautifully decorated backplate is signed Casper Schellig.
Claw feet
The square gilt brass moulded case has long oval glass panels with silvered frames on the sides. The bell is fitted in the centre of the hinged lid below. The whole is raised on four silvered claw feet.
