arched 26.5-cm brass dial with finely painted polychrome flower surround, silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and lovely engraved half hour marks, centre with attractive foliate engraving around the apertures for day of the week, month and the recessed subsidiary seconds with date aperture, pierced blued hands, finely foliate pierced gilt mask spandrels, in the upper corners subsidiaries for strike/silent and play/not play, polychrome oophase in the arch and sector for tune selection, 8-day weight-driven movement with anchor escapement and half hour Dutch striking on two alternating bells, cilinder musical mechanism playing 1 of 4 airs with 18 hammers on 9 bells, oak case veneered with well figured burr walnut of rich color, typical cresting surmounted by an Atlas and two trumpeting Nikes above the foliate pierced wood frets, long shaped door with Chronos ornament, the base with curbed knees on round feet.
